The oil pump nuts on the M5x and S5x engines have a history of backing off, especially in performance applications. When that happens the pump sprocket comes off and instantly the engine loses oil pressure and things get expensive.
This inexpensive solution could save you thousands. This replacement oil pump nut has a hole machined into it so it can be safety wired to the oil pump sprocket to prevent the nut from backing off. This kit includes one machined oil pump nut and more than enough safety wire. We prefer this method over simply welding the nut onto the shaft because it is more easily reversed and resecured without damaging anything.
