FAQs
All Z3s and Z3 Ms are now over 20 years old. Plastic and rubber components degrade from exposure to the heat and natural elements. Mechanical fan delete is a strategy to avoid damage caused when the belt-driven fan disintegrates. Z3's have adequate cooling capacity with the electric auxiliary or AC Condenser fan. Providing the system is otherwise in good repair, the belt driven (mechanical) fan can be removed with no ill effects. This has been tested in the extreme temps of South Florida as well as the summertime Arizona desert.
Our fan delete kits serve to fortify the cooling system to add a measure of additional assurance when removing the fan. A high-performance water pump provides more flow, and the lower temp fan switch cycles the electric fan sooner.
We understand that not everyone is comfortable deleting their fan. Therefore, we also offer fan service kits so you can safely keep the fan in place. These kits target those key components which when deteriorated, can cause the cooling fan to come apart and cause damage.
Unless your Z3 has already had these items addressed, we strongly suggest doing one service or the other to avoid damage.
Note: Fan delete is not possible on 1.9 M44 powered Z3 or S54 powered Z3M. In those applications, fan service is the only path.

No. However, we strongly suggest buying Genuine BMW over fake knockoffs. Genuine BMW roundels last longer and fit properly. Counterfeit roundels are essentially trademark infringement and we do not support that. BimmerBum Co LLC only sells Genuine BMW or officially licensed emblems and roundels, or any merchandise bearing those trademarks.
We offer the best quality parts available. These are selected through personal experience and customer feedback. We simply do not risk our reputation on inferior quality parts.
