(3-00901) BMW Z3 M54/M52tu Mechanical Fan Delete Kit

Spend enough time on Z3 forums or ZSCCA on Facebook and you will notice a pattern. At least once a month someone posts about the mechanical fan in their Z3 coming apart. When the mechanical fan lets go it can easily take components of the belt drive and cooling system with it. In a few very unlucky cases the mechanical fan actually damaged the hood on its way out.
There is a solution. Remove the mechanical fan.
M52tu and M54 powered Z3's function just fine when the mechanical fan
is simply removed. We prefer to take a few extra precautions to fortify
the cooling system when deleting the mechanical fan. We have had this
kit installed on our own Z3 Coupe for years without issue, even in
traffic, with the air on, in the Florida heat. It has also been tested in 120-degree desert heat. We have gathered real
time water temperature while driving both with the mechanical fan and
with this delete kit installed. The peak temps are the same but, thanks
to the Stewart Pump the cooling system is able to pull the water temp
off peak quicker.
This kit includes:
EMP Stewart High Performance Water Pump: 20% more flow than the stock water pump. Cast Metal impeller. Upgraded seal and bearing. More consistent cooling throughout the water jacket.
Low Temperature Auxiliary Fan Switch: The mechanical fan is not the only fan. All M52tu and M54 powered Z3s are equipped with a 2 speed electric auxiliary fan. The lower temperature fan switch kicks the auxiliary fan on at a lower temperature than the stock switch.
Aluminum Water Pump Pulley: The stock water pump pulley is composite. Eventually, that pulley will fail. This stock sized replacement water pump pulley will likely never need replacing.
Replacement Drive Belt: OEM ContiTech replacement drive belt. The old belt has to come off when installing this kit so it might as well be replaced.
OEM Wahler or Mahle Thermostat: Like the drive belt, you'll probably remove your thermostat assembly to access the Water pump, so change it as well. These OEM units are one piece and come with the seal installed.
We also suggest replacing your upper and lower radiator hoses along with your AC compressor drive belt. These are not listed with this item due to variations across production and OEM part brand availability.
